Delete your account
You can delete your Thala account and everything in it from inside the app. You don’t need to ask us, and you don’t need to explain why.
This cannot be undone
Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no grace period, no archive, and no way for us to bring your diary back afterwards. If you want to keep a record, write it down before you delete.
How to delete it
- Open Thala and make sure you’re signed in.
- Go to Account.
- Choose Delete account.
- Confirm it’s you. If you signed up with an email address, enter your password. If you used Sign in with Apple, you’ll be asked to sign in with Apple again instead, because there is no password on that kind of account.
- Confirm. Your account and all of its data are removed straight away.
What gets deleted
Everything attached to your account, which is to say:
- Your account and sign-in details
- Your profile name
- Every pain you've tracked, active or stopped
- Every daily log: pain levels, times of day, pain qualities
- Your moods, sleep scores and stressful events
- Every note you've written
- Your insight and evidence history
- Your notifications and any registered devices
We also ask our analytics provider to erase the usage records held against your account identifier: the fact that you signed up, opened a screen or finished a check-in. Those never contained anything you logged, and they are removed within a few days of your request.
Encrypted database backups taken before you deleted still contain your data until they age out, which takes up to 7 days. They are kept only to restore the service after a technical failure and are never used to bring back a deleted account.
If you can’t sign in
If you’ve lost access to your account, first try resetting your password: tap “Forgot password?” on the sign-in screen and we’ll email you a six-digit code. If that doesn’t work, email privacy@thala.online from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete the account. We’ll need to confirm it’s yours before we do, and we’ll complete the request within 30 days.
